[26 Aug, Singapore / Bangkok] — APAC-SCA is pleased to announce that TasteBud Lab and the Future Food Hub have joined APAC-SCA as a Strategic Member, strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange across the Asia-Pacific food innovation ecosystem.

Based in Thailand, TasteBud Lab is a future food ecosystem platform focused on supporting and connecting FoodTech and BioTech startups, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, corporates and other stakeholders working to transform the food system. Through its ecosystem-building, acceleration, funding, consulting and events activities, TasteBud Lab works to help innovative food ventures develop, scale and reach international markets.

The partnership brings together two complementary networks with a shared ambition: to accelerate responsible innovation and build a more connected, sustainable and resilient food system across Asia-Pacific.

As a Strategic Member of APAC-SCA, TasteBud Lab and the Future Food Hub will contribute their extensive experience in future food innovation, entrepreneurship and ecosystem development, while creating new opportunities for collaboration between stakeholders across the region.

Santi Abakaz, Co-Founder of TasteBud Lab and a leading representative of the Future Food Hub, will serve as the key representative within APAC-SCA.

Santi has been actively involved in bringing together innovators, startups, industry leaders and ecosystem partners around emerging food technologies and sustainable food systems. TasteBud Lab has also developed a strong track record of convening future food communities through conferences, innovation programmes, workshops and international industry events.

“We are very pleased to welcome TasteBud Lab and the Future Food Hub into the APAC-SCA community. Their work in connecting startups, industry, researchers and investors is highly complementary to our mission. Having Santi represent the organisation will help us build stronger bridges across Thailand and the wider Asia-Pacific region.”

— Peter Yu, Program Director APAC-SCA

The collaboration will focus on strengthening regional connections around key areas of future food innovation, including sustainable food systems, FoodTech and BioTech, alternative proteins, food innovation, entrepreneurship, investment and consumer engagement.

Through the partnership, APAC-SCA and TasteBud Lab will explore opportunities to:

·       Connect startups, researchers, investors and industry leaders across the Asia-Pacific region

·       Facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration on emerging food technologies

·       Support the development and internationalisation of innovative food ventures

·       Create opportunities for joint events, workshops and ecosystem activities

·       Strengthen connections between Thailand and other markets across Asia-Pacific

·       Contribute to discussions around sustainable, resilient and future-ready food systems

TasteBud Lab describes its mission as being a “Bio Economy Buddy for Future Food,” working with ESG leaders and corporate venture capital to build, promote and support FoodTech and BioTech startups while fostering the development of future food systems.

The addition of TasteBud Lab and the Future Food Hub reflects APAC-SCA's continued commitment to building a collaborative regional ecosystem where innovation, science, business and policy can come together.

With TasteBud Lab's strong ecosystem presence in Thailand and its growing international network, the partnership will provide new avenues for APAC-SCA members to engage with innovators and organisations across one of Asia's most dynamic food markets.

Santi Abakaz, representing TasteBud Lab and the Future Food Hub, said: “Future food innovation cannot scale through individual organisations working alone. This partnership will help connect Thailand and ASEAN more closely with the wider Asia-Pacific ecosystem, bringing together innovators, industry leaders, investors and researchers. Through TASTEBUD LAB and Future Food Hub, we aim to create a practical collaboration platform where regional connections can lead to real projects, market opportunities and long-term impact.”

The partnership marks another step towards creating a more connected Asia-Pacific future food ecosystem, bringing together the people, ideas and organisations needed to transform the way food is produced, developed and consumed.
