Dr. Mohammad Naqib Hamdan is a Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Islamic Civilisation, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and a leading researcher in Islamic bioethics, halal science, and the Shariah dimensions of emerging food technologies. His work has made significant contributions to the global discourse on cultivated meat, focusing on halal compliance, Islamic jurisprudence, and ethical frameworks that support the responsible development of cellular agriculture. As an Individual Strategic Member of the APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture (APAC-SCA), Dr. Naqib brings invaluable expertise in bridging scientific innovation with Islamic scholarship, helping advance inclusive and internationally relevant pathways for the future of sustainable food systems.
