APAC-SCA Welcomes Altruistic Innovations as Strategic Member, Strengthening India–APAC Collaboration

August 11th — The APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture (APAC-SCA) is pleased to welcome Altruistic Innovations as a Strategic Member, strengthening the association’s engagement with India and creating new opportunities for collaboration across the Asia-Pacific cellular agriculture and alternative protein ecosystem.
Founded by Sruthi Sadanand, Altruistic Innovations is a food and biotechnology consultancy focused on alternative proteins, cultivated meat, product development, technology and market due diligence, strategic partnerships and ecosystem development. The organisation works with startups, businesses, investors and academic institutions to support the development and commercialisation of emerging food technologies.
India is emerging as an important market for cellular agriculture and alternative proteins, supported by its strong biotechnology capabilities, scientific talent, food technology expertise and growing community of entrepreneurs, researchers and investors.
Through this partnership, APAC-SCA and Altruistic Innovations will work to strengthen connections between India and the wider APAC ecosystem, with potential collaboration across regulatory and policy engagement, technology partnerships, investment, commercialisation, market intelligence, talent development and knowledge exchange.
APAC-SCA will also facilitate connections between Indian stakeholders and companies, researchers, investors and ecosystem partners across Singapore, Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea, Australia and other APAC markets.
Altruistic Innovations has undertaken initiatives to better understand India’s emerging alternative protein landscape, including work around fermentation and bioprocessing infrastructure, regulatory pathways and the cultivated-meat patent landscape. This complements APAC-SCA’s regional efforts to strengthen the foundations for responsible growth of cellular agriculture.

Sruthi brings extensive experience in the alternative protein sector across India and Singapore, spanning product development, market development, ecosystem building, industry engagement and strategic consulting. Her work focuses on building the capabilities and connections needed for the next generation of food and biotechnology.
