The APAC Society for Cellular Agriculture (APAC-SCA), in collaboration with BSI, is proud to announce the launch of a specialized training initiative focused on ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP implementation for the cellular agriculture and novel food sectors.

As cultivated meat, precision fermentation, and advanced biomanufacturing technologies move closer toward large-scale commercialization, food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory readiness have become critical priorities for companies operating in the emerging protein ecosystem. This joint initiative aims to equip industry professionals with the knowledge and practical tools needed to align with internationally recognized food safety management systems while addressing the unique operational realities of next-generation food production.

The training program has been specifically designed to bridge the gap between conventional food safety frameworks and the rapidly evolving needs of cellular agriculture companies. Participants will gain foundational and applied knowledge in ISO 22000 and HACCP principles through practical examples, implementation strategies, and case discussions relevant to modern food manufacturing environments.

“These programmes are designed to equip the cellular agriculture ecosystem not only with strong scientific capabilities, but also with the necessary Food Safety Management System (FSMS), and regulatory readiness required for commercialisation,” said Jason Ng, President of APAC-SCA. “As companies move closer to market entry and large-scale production, strong preparedness in FSMS, product registration and regulatory compliance will be essential to ensure smooth product approval, successful market placement, and long-term consumer and regulatory confidence.”

The training programmes are intended for:

  • Quality assurance and food safety personnel

  • Regulatory affairs professionals

  • New employees involved in R&D, food handling, and production

  • Bioprocess and production teams

  • R&D scientists transitioning toward scale-up

  • Management, senior leadership invested in food safety commitment and compliance

Participants will gain practical knowledge on implementing HACCP and ISO 22000 systems, identifying sector-specific hazards, and aligning operations with regulatory expectations.

Training Schedule

  • HACCP Training

    22–23 July 2026 (2 days, online)

  • ISO 22000:2018 & ISO 22000:2018 Internal Audit Training

    12–14 August 2026 (3 days, online)

Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance jointly issued by APAC-SCA and BSI.

APAC-SCA members will receive 50% discounted registration rates as part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to workforce development and ecosystem capacity-building across the Asia-Pacific cellular agriculture sector.
