WHAT IS CELLULAR AGRICULTURE?

Unlike conventional agriculture, cellular agriculture removes the need for animal waste and slaughter, as cells are grown externally in facilities resembling that of brewing or fermentation. Similar to traditional meat and seafood products, cultivated cells have the same genetic make-up.

REGULATION & POLICY

ASIA PACIFIC

Increasing number of policymakers globally have signalled their support and commitment for the cultivated meat and seafood industry to meet their national policy goals of economic growth, mitigation of the climate crisis, and as a food security asset. In 2020, Singapore was the first national regulatory body in the world to approve the commercial sale of a cultivated meat product. United States followed suit in 2023, clearing two cultivated meat products for sales.

APAC-SCA is committed to facilitate and work with regulatory entities in order to tackle challenges that lie ahead. We stand behind the efforts of producing clean, safe, and sustainable meat and seafood products of the future.
